PRESS RELEASE: 15th April
Alliance for Better Care, the GP Federation for East Surrey, Crawley, Horsham and Mid-Sussex, has been co-ordinating a local effort to provide additional resources for GPs during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Among the local organisations to donate to the cause are Woldingham School, Caterham School, Reigate Grammar School, Barrow Hills School and Eltham College, all of which have provided visors and/or face masks for use on the frontline of medical services in the area.
Woldingham School in Surrey stepped up by making protective face visors using 3D printers and by donating goggles normally used in science lessons. The school has already supplied 48 face visors which were provided to local GPs and health visitors.
Garages in the region have also contributed to the effort, with BT Gordon’s in Oxted supplying seat covers that have been used for clinical staff attending home visits.
Pramit Patel, Medical Director, Alliance for Better Care said:
“Thank you so much to all the local businesses who have helped us to bolster our stocks, with a special thanks going toDr Dave Triska from Whitley Surgery who helped to start the process. We are focused on supporting our GPs across East Surrey and West Sussex and helping them to prepare for seeing potential Covid-19 patients. It’s good to have the ongoing support of the local community during such an important time.”
