PRESS RELEASE: 12th January 2022

Alliance for Better Care is delighted to announce that its Vaccine Equity Programme has been shortlisted for Most Impactful Project Addressing Health Inequalities at the HSJ Partnership Awards 2022, recognising its outstanding contribution to healthcare – in what has been an exceptional and challenging period across the sector.
Despite the demanding circumstances of the past two years, over 190 entries have been received for this year’s HSJ Partnership Awards, with 123 projects making it to the final shortlist.
Throughout the vaccination programme ABC has worked with both its local CCGs and Councils to better engage with communities and ensure everyone had equal access to the vaccine. In July 2021 it introduced two Vaccine Equity Co-ordinators who already had relationships within areas of focus and aimed to leave a lasting legacy, that not only addressed vaccine hesitancy but other pre-existing health inequalities too.
“We are so pleased to have been recognised as a finalist in this very important category. This has been a collaborative approach between ourselves, the local CCGs and Councils and has made a real impact on the lives of our patients. We look forward to celebrating the valuable work of both our colleagues and peers in March,” said Katherine Saunders, CEO, Alliance for Better Care.
The selected winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at Westminster Park Plaza, London on March 24th 2022.
