Local GP Federation, Alliance for Better Care, has been recognised with a Crawley Community Award in the category of Group Achievement. The awards, which are organised by Crawley Borough Council in association with The Hawth and The Crawley Observer, recognise and reward local individuals or groups who give up their time, talents and skills to help and support others in their community.
The ABC Outreach Team have been recognised for their equity work, which involved ensuring equal access to vaccination and Primary Care services. The team introduced two Vaccine Equity Co-ordinators in July 2021, whose primary aim was to improve engagement with vulnerable communities in the area and better understand what barriers exist to accessing care.
Katherine Saunders, ABC Chief Executive said: “Huge congratulations to all of the ABC team. They’ve had a huge impact on many of the communities we serve and it is great to see all their hard work recognised. And well done to all the winners of tonight’s awards, there were so many deserving finalists.”
