PRESS RELEASE: 12th August
Woodhatch Place vaccination site in Reigate delivered its 50,000th dose of the Covid vaccine last night. The huge milestone comes a week after the Woodhatch Place team welcomed the new Chief Executive of the NHS, Amanda Pritchard on her first official visit in her new role.
During Amanda’s visit last week, the team at Woodhatch Place showcased the vaccination clinic in full swing while also demonstrating a new pilot scheme that allows patients to access a health check while onsite. Blood pressure, pulse and BMI are all measured and patients answer lifestyle questions, before patients’ results are shared with their GP.
The Alliance for Better Care (ABC) team, who manage the centre and run six other vaccination sites locally, launched Woodhatch Place on 17th December and continue to deliver first and second dose clinics.
ABC Clinical Lead, Dr Jonathan Leung said:
“Reaching such a milestone is testament to the hard work of our dedicated team of staff, volunteers and partners. We are focused on delivering a safe and effective vaccination programme and we’re delighted that Amanda selected us for her first official visit as CEO. ”
