Our Sexual Safety Pledge

Our commitment to promoting safety and trust for our staff

At Alliance for Better Care, we are committed to creating and maintaining a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, valued and able to thrive.

By signing the NHS Sexual Safety Charter, we pledge to take a proactive and zero-tolerance approach to sexual misconduct, harassment, bullying and abuse of power in all its forms.

We are committed to:

  • Fostering a culture of dignity, respect, and inclusion for all colleagues, patients, service users, volunteers, learners and partners.
  • Ensuring that inappropriate behaviours, including sexual harassment and misconduct, are challenged and addressed promptly and fairly.
  • Providing clear and accessible routes for reporting concerns, with confidence that individuals will be listened to, supported, and protected from retaliation.
  • Supporting those affected by inappropriate behaviour with compassion, sensitivity and appropriate resources.
  • Equipping our leaders and teams with the knowledge and confidence to recognise, prevent and respond to unacceptable conduct.
  • Holding ourselves accountable for creating an environment where everyone feels safe to speak up and where concerns lead to meaningful action.

We believe that sexual safety is everyone’s responsibility. Together, we will continue to build a culture where respect is the standard, voices are heard and everyone can work and receive care in a safe environment.
