Health checks

Approachable and personalised

Using the Make Every Contact Count (MECC) approach, we are able to provide an important opportunity for adults to assess their overall health and identify potential risks early within a comfortable setting. These checks help prevent conditions such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and type 2 diabetes by monitoring key health indicators and offering tailored advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Our Wellbeing Health Check typically includes:

  • Blood pressure check – High blood pressure can increase the risk of serious health conditions.
  • BMI (Body Mass Index) measurement – Assesses whether a person is within a healthy weight range.
  • Cholesterol and glucose testing – Identifies risks related to heart disease and diabetes.
  • Lifestyle assessment – A discussion around diet, physical activity, smoking, and alcohol consumption, providing guidance on healthier habits.
  • Personalised advice – Based on the results, individuals receive recommendations on how to lower their risk of developing health conditions.

For patients who haven’t seen their GP for a while, and who haven’t received an NHS health check in the last five years, it was a great opportunity to engage within a community setting that is familiar to them, while also allowing our team to signpost them back to their practice and show all the available ways to contact their GP including online services via the GP website.
