Leading with purpose: championing women’s progress #IWD

As we celebrate International Women’s Day this year, we want to recognise the incredible contribution that women make to our workforce and share our own efforts to do more than just inspire inclusion but to create an environment that invests in women and supports their progress.

While women make up 77% of the NHS workforce, we know that they are often underrepresented at senior level*. We want to be different. We want to recognise and reward female talent and we’re proud to have a senior leadership team that is 70% female.

This year, we launched our Leadership Development initiative – a comprehensive professional development programme designed to not only support our staff to grow and develop but also help us to ensure that employees love where they work and are willing and able to help us achieve our vision. And we’re delighted to see the programme being led by our female workforce, with 86% of the initiative’s facilitators being women.

For us, accessibility is key and this is why we’ve extended the programme beyond senior management, encouraging line managers from our central team, our clinical leads, people in additional roles (ARRS) with line management responsibilities, PCN network coordinators and our three graduates to all take advantage of the scheme. 76% of the invitations are to women too.

So to all of our team – Happy International Women’s Day, we look forward to continuing our quest to #inspireinclusion and be part of your success.
