International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate progress, but also a time to accelerate action for gender equality. At Alliance for Better Care, we care about driving change every day by championing women in leadership, creating a supportive work environment and prioritising women’s health.
Driving gender equality in leadership
We believe in recognising talent and making sure women have the opportunities they deserve to step into key leadership roles. 40% of our board members and 76% of our leadership team are women. Our leadership programmes, training opportunities, and mentorship initiatives accelerate career progression and empower women to take on key roles.
Taking action for workplace equity
We know that real progress means making workplaces more inclusive. That’s why we’ve put flexible working policies and enhanced maternity support in place, ensuring women have the tools to succeed in both their careers and personal lives. As part of this support, Dr Uzma Aziz from Woodlands Road Surgery recently held a menopause session over Zoom for staff, which included a presentation by Dr Radhika Vohra who specialises in women’s health.
Championing women’s health and wellbeing
Our clinical services and community outreach programmes are designed to ensure women have the support, education and resources they need to make informed health decisions. This also includes access to healthcare for GRT communities.
Committed to action
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women in our team, and we will continue to implement policies and practices that support women, ensuring that our organisation reflects the diverse communities we serve.
