Case Study: Reducing carbon emissions through smarter deliveries

Delivering measurable environmental benefits through consolidated deliveries

Through the our partnership with Buywise, one practice benefited from a more sustainable approach to procurement, demonstrating how simple changes to ordering and delivery processes can have a measurable environmental impact.

Between 24 August 2025 and 27 February 2026, Buywise Health consolidated deliveries to the practice into a single weekly drop as part of an existing delivery route. Over the 27-week period, this approach reduced the number of deliveries arriving on site from 102 separate consignments to just 27 scheduled deliveries.

The Results

  • 75 deliveries avoided through consolidation.
  • 74% fewer delivery arrivals at the practice.
  • 3,000 vehicle miles removed from the road network.
  • 1,175 kg of CO₂e emissions avoided, equivalent to approximately 1.17 tonnes of carbon emissions.
  • A reported net delivery footprint of zero, with deliveries offset through Carbon Neutral Britain.
