Staff at Vaccination Sites

All of our centres run their rota through Lantum – an online web based system which we have used for several years for booking GP staff.  It’s a very effective system but we are using it for a slightly different purpose so have put together this guide to make you using it as easy as possible. Anyone wanting to work in a vaccination site whatever the terms (through their employer, as part of a workforce bank, self employed or just volunteering) will need to be approved as part of the ABC Associates Programme and then you can book shifts via our booking system, powered by Lantum.

There are a variety of administrative clinical roles within the programme including:

  • Site Admin – As a first point of contact for our patients, this job serves a vital role in our programme. The staff member is required to check patients in, direct their enquiries and record vaccination data on Pinnacle.
  • Roving Team Admin – While out in the community our vaccinators need support from an admin to ensure that housebound patients and those at pop up sites receive the same care.
  • Registered Vaccinator – This role is fulfilled by a registered healthcare professional and falls under our PGD model.
  • Roving Vaccinator – We employ experienced vaccinators to provide off-site vaccination services in Care Homes or to particularly at-risk patient groups.
  • Non-registered Immuniser – This role has been introduced since we introduced the National Protocol model. Non-registered Immunisers are trained by ABC to give vaccinations. Video and FAQs available detailing requirements and how to apply (as part of the Vaccinator Supervisor role Webinar)
  • Vaccinator supervisor – Another role that has been introduced by those of our sites employing the National Protocol. A list of professionals who can apply for this experienced role is available on our site. Video and FAQs available detailing requirements and how to apply
  • Clinical supervisor – This position assumes overall responsibility for sites.

Self employed staff

Staff working for ABC on a self-employed basis will require the following:

  • DBS certificate within the last 3 years (standard for admin staff and an enhanced DBS for clinical staff.)
  • Passport (UK or passport + proof of eligibility to work in UK)
  • CV
  • Signed confidentiality agreement (to be sent electronically)
  • IG training (ABC to arrange if not held already)
  • Unique Tax Reference (UTR)

In addition to the above, clinical staff will need:

  • e-learning for health certificates to cover the specific vaccine being used. Currently Pfizer and AZ (and more will become available in due course)
  • basic life support and anaphylaxis (this may be through elfh platform or other)

These documents must be uploaded to Lantum and will be verified by the Governance Team.

Employed staff

Staff employed by a provider with which ABC has a workforce MoU, do not need to provide all of the above documentation. On applying to work for ABC, they must provide the name of their substantive employer. ABC will then verify their employment and will request confirmation that a DBS, Passport, CV and IG training are held on file for that individual.

They will still be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and clinical staff will still need to provide the following:

  • e-learning for health certificates to cover the specific vaccine being used. Currently Pfizer and AZ (and more will become available in due course)
  • basic life support and anaphylaxis (this may be through elfh platform or other)

All documents may be uploaded to Lantum

Getting Paid
If you are a GP, you will continue to be paid via the Lantum Rocketpay system.

Working through Current Employer
If you are working through your current employer and expecting to be paid through them, we will use the information from Lantum to generate a timesheet and invoice. This will be sent to your employer to ensure that you are paid on a monthly basis.

Being paid directly
For staff working as self-employed, please complete this initial time sheet and send to vikki.sheerman@nhs.net for payment. We will endeavour to make payment within 14 days.
