PRESS RELEASE: 13th October 2021
GP Federation, Alliance for Better Care, has unveiled the latest of its vaccination sites at Roffey Millennium Hall in Horsham. The town’s Park Surgery had previously overseen the Covid Vaccination Service in the area and, as the service moves into the next phase, the practice will work closely with ABC and the wider Horsham Central Primary Care Network to deliver the Autumn / Winter Vaccination Programme.
Within Horsham Central PCN are Holbrook, Park Surgery, Orchard Surgery and Riverside.
Katherine Saunders, ABC Chief Executive said: “North Horsham Parish Council has provided the perfect accessible, community venue for us to expand our programme. We’re looking forward to working alongside the experienced Park Surgery team and Horsham Central PCN to deliver the next phase of our service effectively and efficiently.”
Staff at the venue have already begun using the site for the co-administration of both the Flu vaccine and Covid-19 Boosters.
At present, the team are contacting eligible patients to book appointments and – to support GP practices during this busy period – they ask that people do not call their surgery to enquire about their vaccinations.
To find out the most up to date information regarding the next phase of the vaccination programme, patients can visit the dedicated page on the ABC site: https://allianceforbettercare.org/autumn-winter-vaccination-programme/
A list of walk-in clinics is also available online at https://allianceforbettercare.org/covid-vaccination-programme/walkinclinics/
If patients wish to book a vaccination, they can use the online form https://allianceforbettercare.org/nhsbookajab/ and the team will get back to them.
Dr Laurence Woolley is GP at Holbrook Surgery and ABC Clinical Lead for the site, he said: “We’re so pleased to have established a site that can serve the local needs of Horsham patients during the coming months. We will continue to work closely with all the practices within our PCN to expand our programme and ensure we deliver the same personal and efficient service that we’ve provided for the past nine months.”
The Millennium Hall team are keen to hear from any local volunteers, who would be happy to assist patients onsite. Interested parties should contact the team on: volunteerhorsham@outlook.com
