Statement: IPC GP Federation ceases trading.

Innovations in Primary Care (IPC Ltd), a GP federation covering coastal West Sussex, has ceased trading. This is a difficult time for IPC’s staff, members, and patients, and our thoughts are with them.

As a neighbouring GP federation, we will continue to support NHS Sussex and its partners to help mitigate the impact of the closure wherever possible.

This includes:

  • Urgent novation of the contract for Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) provision at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester and Worthing Hospital with staff TUPE transferred to Alliance for Better Care (ABC). Service continues with no disruption.
  • Referral Management Service continues with no disruption. All staff remaining in place and staff TUPE transferred to ABC.
  • Covid 19 Vaccination programme continues with no disruption and now embedded within the existing ABC vaccination programme.
  • Protected Learning Time – providing administrative cover for practices – face to face and phone.
  • Enhanced Access Service – we are supporting the continuation of this service in partnership with GP Practices and NHS Sussex.
  • Minor Ops – we’re currently reviewing options and will confirm shortly.
  • Training Courses – we’re working with the Sussex Training Hub and WSPMA to review options and will confirm shortly.
  • GP Federation Membership – all former IPC member practices have been offered full ABC membership.

We continue to work closely with the Primary Care Networks affected and their individual GP practices to provide further support.
