HSJ Patient Safety Awards Shortlist

We’re delighted to be shortlisted for the HSJ Patient Safety Awards, in the Improving Safety and Outcomes for Minority Ethnic Communities category.

Our submission, From Crisis to Safety: A scalable Inclusion Health model for refugees and asylum seekers, highlights how coordinated, GP-led care can improve safety and outcomes for people living in temporary accommodation.

The submission draws on evidence from our Listening Project and, for the first time, our new Inclusion Pays report, which demonstrates the wider value and impact of investing in inclusive healthcare.

Lena Abdu, Director Inclusion Health and Transformation said:

“There would be no submission without our frontline colleagues across clinical services, personalised care and equity, who respond to complex situations every day, alongside everyone working behind the scenes to support safe, effective care.

It is difficult to think of anyone across ABC who has not contributed to this work in some way. A huge thank you to everyone involved.”

Thank you to NHS Surrey and Sussex for their continued support of our Inclusion Health Refugee and Asylum Seeker Service.
