Vaccination Pod launches at Woodhatch Place ready to deliver Autumn/Winter Vaccination Programme

Local GP federation, Alliance for Better Care, has launched a dedicated state-of-the-art vaccination pod at Woodhatch Place in Reigate, ready to host the NHS’ Autumn/Winter Vaccination Programme.

The ABC team have spent the past 18 months working in partnership with NHS colleagues to deliver more than 95,000 vaccinations at the Woodhatch Place Local Vaccination Site. However, the original building has now been handed back to the council and the team has therefore launched the temporary building so that it can continue to deliver vaccinations in the heart of the Reigate community.

“Our Woodhatch Place site has played such a vital role in helping us to deliver the first phases of the Covid Vaccination programme and we’re delighted to still have a presence at the site.  We look forward to once again working with our team of dedicated staff, volunteers and partners to provide this integral service to the community,” said Katherine Saunders, CEO, Alliance for Better Care.

The pod has been created in partnership with Surrey County Council, NHS England and EMS, and will have capacity to host six patients at a time. Patients are asked not to turn up at the site unless they have an appointment.

Patients can check their eligibility and book appointments via the NHS’ National Booking System or by calling 119. Covid vaccination appointments are regularly being added to the booking site as they become available and patients are asked not to contact their GP to try and book an appointment. The team are currently working with local partners to deliver vaccinations to care homes and housebound patients also.

Those eligible for flu vaccinations in the area, will be invited to receive their flu jab at their practice.

The onsite team have put a call out for any local residents who may wish to volunteer on site and support the project. Anyone interested in taking part should contact gary.mccracken@nhs.net.
